Now that you know the plans for your future workplace it will be easier to plan for recruiting in an ever more competitive environment.Over the past thirty (or so) years recruiting new staff has been relatively easy in Australia.
A large number of new young employees have become available each year and, by and large, employers have been able to pick and choose their staff.
Starting in the next few years (in the case of skilled employees it has already started) there will be far fewer young people entering the workforce than in the 'baby boomers' time. As the baby boomers retire it is likely to become more difficult to recruit the good staff.
Understanding ahead of time where employee shortages will occur will be one thing that will help: knowing where to find good employees and how to attract them to your business is the next step.
If you plan to use a recruitment business, it will be important to specify that you want a genuinely open selection process and you are happy to receive referrals of people of all ages, if they can do the job.
